We are pleased to announce the new Bently Nevada® 1900/65 General Purpose Equipment Monitor. This flexible, cost-effective system is specifically designed to continu ously monitor and protect essential and balance-of-plant equipment assets in a wide range of industries including: Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Water Treatment, Pulp & Paper, Manufacturing, Mining, Cement, and others.

Traditional rack-based monitoring systems like the Bently Nevada 3500 Series are widely accepted for protecting large, complex rotating machinery, but it is generally diffi cult to justify this type of continu ous monitoring for less-critical equipment. As a result, these machines typically operate without adequate protection. While simple devices such as 4-20 mA transmitters are available, they offer very limited capabili ties and require addi tional devices to convert the 4-20 mA signals to “protection.”

The 1900/65 Monitor is suitable for monitoring and protecting cool ing tower fans, pumps, blowers, motors, pulverizers, air compres sors, small reciprocating compres sors, small electric motors, small hydro turbines, centrifuges, and other equipment assets. It can be easily retrofit on existing machines or used by original equip ment manufacturers (OEMs) for cost-effective inclusion on smaller skid-mounted and packaged machines.

The 1900/65 provides extensive capabilities: eight input channels; six configurable alarm relays; four 4-20 mA outputs; buffered output facilities for easy connection to portable diagnostic instruments; Microsoft® Windows®-based con figuration software; an optional easy-to-read display that can be mounted locally or up to 75 meters (250 feet) away; and an optional IP65-rated weatherproof housing (or door for panel-mount applications).

Special emphasis has been placed on a highly configurable and flexi ble design that can be easily adapted for individual applications and provides multiple measurement parameters for each input sensor. A single seismic sensor input, for example, can return up to four dif ferent measurement parameters incorporating bandpass filtering, integration, RMS or Peak detec tion, bias voltage, and acceleration enveloping. Combined, the vibra tion and temperature inputs can be learn more online at processed into 20 different meas urement variables of the user’s choosing, each with its own alarms, providing high measurement den sity in a very small package. Alarm logic is also highly configurable users can incorporate sophisticated voting logic between various parameters and channels in virtu ally unlimited combinations. The optional display module pro vides new installation freedom. Mount the monitor where wiring costs will be minimized (such as near the machines), and mount the display where it is most convenient for personnel to access (such as a shelter or control room) – up to 75 meters away. Or, eliminate the dis play altogether when a “blind” monitoring system is all that is needed. Use the 3500 System rack to mount all 3500 monitor modules and power supplies.  The rack allows you to place 3500 modules near one another, enabling them to easily communicate, and to mount power supplies necessary to distribute power to each module. 3500 racks are available in two sizes: Full-size rack. 19-inch EIA rack with 14 available module slots. Mini-rack. 12-inch rack with seven available module slots. You can order 3500 racks in three formats: Panel mount. This rack format mounts to rectangular cut outs in panels, and secures to the panel using clamps supplied with the rack.  Wiring connections and I/O modules are accessible from the rear of the rack.

Rack mount. This rack format mounts the 3500 Rack on 19 inch EIA rails.  Wiring connections and I/O modules are accessible from the rear of the rack. Bulkhead mount. This rack format mounts the rack against a wall or panel when it is not possible to access the rear of the rack. 

Wiring connections and I/O modules are accessible from the front of the rack.  The 3500/05 Mini-Rack is not available in this format. The power supplies and rack interface module must occupy the far-left rack positions.  The remaining 14 rack positions (seven rack positions for the mini-rack) are available for any combination of modules.

The 4-Channel Relay Module is a full-height module that provides four relay outputs. Any number of 4-Channel Relay Modules can be placed in any of the slots to the right of the Rack Interface Module. Each output of the 4-Channel Relay Module can be independently programmed to perform needed voting logic. Each relay utilized on the 4-Channel Relay Module includes “Alarm Drive Logic”. The Alarm Drive Logic is programmed using AND and OR logic, and can utilize alarming inputs (alerts and dangers) from any monitor channel or any combination of monitor channels in the rack. This Alarm Drive Logic programming uses the 3500 Rack Configuration Software to meet the specific needs of the application. Note:  Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) applications require the use of the 3500/34 TMR Relay Module.  Consult Bently Nevada Specification and Ordering Information part number 141534-01 for details.
